Capture Problems AHHHHH

I am using a powerbook with the PC slot

So when I got this camera I would insert the card and log and transfer in FCP and everything would be cool.

Now every time I go to log and transfer, when i choose a clip it trys to process it but then it just says "idle" and I can never get anything in

I read the workflow post and tried using P2CMS but when i exported it was only exporting the directories from the card and not the final independent clips.

What is going on here???

So I was able to get 'log and transfer' to work once I turned the frame rate to 'default'
in the scene file.

But I still cannot 'log and transfer' clips with a chosen frame rate in the scene file or time lapses where I have chosen interval frame rate.

WHY?????

and I am using FCP 6.0.2

and why when you export using P2CMS do you still only get the directory from the card??

I am sure I will figure these things out in time I have been working with FCP and Digital video for long time but it would help if someone could just answer any of my questions directly. This P2 stuff is a headache and a blessing.
