Cant view clips in P2 viewer when P2 card is in camera

I connect the HVX via USB to PC and the P2 viewer tells me it cannot mount the P2 card within the camera. It doesn´t find the P2 card in the camera.

Is this really not possible, or am I missing something?


Why wouldn´t this be possible?
 
You should make sure you have all the appropriate drivers installed beforehand. Does the P2 card come up as a mounted drive in "My Computer"?
 
Yes, I installed the drivers. The camera is being recognized.
Transferring media is no problem via USB.

From the internal HDD P2 viewer identifies the folder above the contents folder as P2.

Try it with your camera: connect it via USB (if you´re PC based) and see if P2 viewer can read the P2 card within the camera.
My P2 viewer can´t.

I hope there is some software to fix this. It would be really stupid if you can´t view the P2 card from within the camera (before offloading to HDD) with the P2 viewer...
 
OK, my bad, within the P2 player I missed an element, it works.


What doesn´t work is disconnecting the camera from USB. On the PC desktop the drives are disconnected, but the camera still shows USB connect.
I always have to power circle the camera, to use it again in the VCR mode.
Is this normal?
