Cant update 14-35 lens

I've tried using the tricks stated as I'm on a Mac platform, but I keep getting the message, check card when trying to update my olympus lens. Any ideas?

As Barry Reported Apple and their OS adds garbage files so in order to make it work you have to use a real PC not an Apple!

Funny how the Panasonic consumer division (and just about every other camera maker on the planet) has managed to make updates work just fine using Macs. Maybe you're placing the blame where it doesn't belong.

Try unzipping the file with StuffIt extractor. Made the a f100 go without a hitch.

Or run Boot Camp, which makes it a "real PC."

Silly question, But what result can we expect from updating the Olympus lens firmware? I have both the 14-35 and the 35-100 so if there is some real advantage to doing the update, i'm definitely doing it.

You do not have to use a PC. Barry found a way and I did it and was successful updating. Here is the link.

So what did you do?

I'm just a dumb a$% and feel like a real idiot even posting this. I put the firmware file into the first folder. it says to put the file in the first hierarchy which I thought was the first folder, but it means just on the "desktop" of the card. When I was looking at the pics on the instruction page on how to update the firmware, the first folder is kind of selected or outlined as if it where selected. So in the excitement of getting the new cam I was trying to rush through the process, but in the meantime making it way more difficult than it needed to be. So the operating platform was not the issue, just stupidity and user error.
