I just can't install the new firmware on my C100. I follow all the instructions but when I insert the SD card in the C100, the "firmware" menu is black, not white so I can't select it.
I copied the VIF2.FIM to the root directory (not in "private").
Do I do something wrong ?

I still have the Version 1.0.0.1.00 and didn't download last july Version 1.0.1.1.00. This could be the reason ?

1.0.1.1.00 can't be download anymore. I have read that the 1.0.2.1.00 is for 1.0.1.1.00 and earlier...
Help any idea ?

I tried to download V1 1.0.1.1.00 but same thing. The "firmware" menu is grey, not white. I can't select it...

Try.

A different card.

Reformat the card in the camera.

Re-downlaod the firmware and try again on different card and reformatted card.

Try backing up your settings to a card to see if the camera can write to it.

Call Canon service.

Thanks Erik. It works with another card...Weird. Do you think I should be worried about this SD ? (I backed up my settings on it and it seems working)

Great! Glad I could help. What brand/type of SD card is it? I would be a little Leery of it. Might run a few test records on it and check it to make sure no frames are dropped of errors. Best practice is to not use it for critical shoots. Defiantly reformat it with the C100.

I'm having trouble with my MBP not allowing a write permission to my freshly reformatted SDXC card. Comes up with the message "Mac OS X can't repair the disk "CANON" Thoughts?
