can't figure out 720/60p vid rate question

I am trying to shoot a slow motion video and follow a tutorial for super slow motion. I shot at 720p/60 and the clip is playing back at 23.98. Can I somehow put it in to fcp at 59.94 and have 60fps progressive? I need that information to then make it slower. I shot it at a fast shutter speed as well (500). I am pretty new to video and have asked many friends but no luck. Can I convert to 60p in the timeline or will it only duplicate frames? If not then how do I shoot it in the future so I have the most frames possible for smooth slow down?

Did you shoot it 720 24Pn? If so, it will play back at 23.98 by design. And for getting slow-mo, that is exactly what you want it to do. When using twixtor or motion to achieve "super" slow-mo, it just eliminates the need to take the slowed footage and convert the 60P clip to a 24P clip later.

Thanks for your reply. I think I shot it in 720p/60. That is what the info on the clip says but it also says that it is in 23.98 vid rate. It plays back in slow motion through quicktime or in the camera as well as fcp and there is no sound. So I was always assuming it was true 60fps. I will check out my settings when I get back to the studio on Monday. I wanted to send it to motion at 60 or 59.94 fps so that there are more steps between motion. That way optical flow will work better. But I have tried like crazy to change the frame rate or somehow get to 60p. But I can't figure it out.
