Can't change ISO while recording

Some of them do. The HVX/HPX170/HMC150 do, but the HPX300 and most (if not all) Sony and Canon cameras don't.

Yeah but at least they support external monitors and the EX-1, etc, have really great LCD screens...anyway the GH1's viewfinder seems to be fine for pulling focus in most situations, the problem is the viewfinder is not always practical to use in all situations.

does the GH2 enable changing ISO whilst recording?
This is the main fault of the cam for me... I really need it whilst for example recording one long speeches clip at a wedding with the light rapidly reducing outside.

"...i do hope panasonic make a 'pro' version of gh1 with all this kind of bells and whistles.."

Yes, stoneinapond is right. It's called the AF100. Gain switch on camera will store different ISOs which can be toggled while recording. Another toggle switch to store different white balance settings. Also, a 3 stage built-in ND filter, so going from indoor to outdoor exposure issues can be solved in a second without changing ISO or iris. And so on.
