Can't capture from my HVX in Premiere anymore!!

I tried posting this in the Premiere section, but I haven't gotten a response in almost a week, so I thought I'd try here - it could be a camera issue anyhow...

I have an HVX and Premiere Pro 2.0 connected by Firewire-

I've used this setup many times to capture 24p Tape into my camera, but now for some reason Premiere won't capture from my camera.

When I bring the Capture window up, it says "Can't activate recorder, try resetting camera", but of course I do it and it still doesn't work.

What could I possibly be doing wrong? Am I just retarded?! I haven't changed any settings in Premiere that I know of, so maybe it's a setting in my camera?

PLEASE HEEEELP!

UPDATE: OK, for some reason I can control the camera through the Capture Window, but I am not seeing any video - and it only does this, apparently when it 'feels like it' it's not always able to control it.

Upgrade to Premiere CS3... Unless I'm mistaken, Adobe doesn't provide support for P2 until CS3 and even if you're coming off the tape and not P2, they still may have issues with that camera in early editions of the software...

I believe the OP trying to capture via tape, not p2. "I've used this setup many times to capture 24p Tape into my camera."

Have you tried a different Firewire cable?

Have also determined whether there is a blown port on either the computer or the cam?

How would I determine if the port is blown? My pc recognizes the connection, and the window pops up asking what I want to do with the device, it just doesn't work in Premiere now.

I have a pretty top-of-the-line cable, but I could also check that. And yes it is tape, though I do need to upgrade to CS3 sometime.

Plug it into another computer with a firewire port. Doesn't even need to have Premiere installed on it. If it works there should be a pop-up asking you what you want to do with the camera. Certainly sounds like a firewire port problem to me. A new one costs like $15 so it's not too costly to just buy one to test out.

I get that popup on this computer... Everytime I plug the camera in or turn it on.
Premiere can control the camera a little bit, but I can not see the video through Premiere and I get the "Can't activate recorder. try resetting camera" error.

I just upgraded to CS3 and am getting the same error.

Could there be a setting on my camera I am missing? I've been through Barry Green's HVX Book and couldn't find anything there.
