First of all I use FCP 5.1.4 (Final cut Studio)
I shot footage in 1080i at both 24f and 60i....
when I log and capture my 24f footage it is all jumpy (stop and go)
I can capture my 60i footage though

what settings do I need to capture at 24f?

When capturing 24F footage, you need to set it to capture 1080/24p in FCP.

When capturing 60i footage, change your settings to 1080/60i.

can't find 1080i24

can't find 1080i24

I have fcp5.1.4
i can't find a 1080i24 setting option...all I see is hdv1080i60, hdv1080i50, and hdv720p...where is this setting?

Look under "Easy Setup" for "HDV 1080p 24". Select this and you should be able to control the camera and have the ability to log and capture.

Your sequence compressor should be "HDV 1080p24" and audio should be 48k. Frame rate should be 23.98.

Something you need to understand is that to the computer, 24F HDV is effectively 1080 24p (23.98) and so that's why there's no "1080i24" setting. Even though the camera has interlace chips, when playing back 24F HDV it puts out a true progressive 24fps MPEG2 stream with no interlacing or pulldown involved. (when captured through firewire)

I have fcp 5.1...there is no 1080p24, only 50 and 60...is there anyone with FCP 5.1 that edits with the a1 at 24F that knows for sure?
