Canon's next release

I feel like reading too much about gh2 vs 60d is about to stress me out to the max. I have no overhead investment in lenses right now... I own one lens... so its not really a big deal for me to switch brands to Panasonic from my current t2i but honestly Canon is just going to leapfrog the GH2 with whatever comes out next so I am kinda thinking I will just hold out with my t2i and wait and see what canon does next. So does anyone know when Canon would make their next announcement?
Right now what is attracting me to the GH2 is no file limit and audio metering on the screen for audio. But the lack of fast lenses bothers me and I feel like if I made a Canon investment in lenses that would be smarter...
thoughts????

Based on what you just said here, I would go with the GH2.

1-it can use any lens with an adapter, so it has more of a selection than canon
2-autofocus during video
3-your on screen audio levels and control
4-no file limit
5-native 24p recording (the GH1 was wrapped in a 60i but the GH2 has native 24p)
6-highly discreet without a rig setup
7-stereo recording
8-3D
9-no overheating
10-possibility for a hack...

but if you are waiting for the next canon announcement, then you might as well wait for the next panasonic announcement after that, then after, then after that! New cameras will always succeed what's on the market now and there will always be a better camera coming out, but if you wait for it, you will never buy one!

Just get a cam with features that you want... work around its limitations... and just SHOOT! that is the only thing that will make you a better videographer.

+1
I have doubts canon will deliver more than wht they have now on their current line up. if they do, it would be much expensive

Those issues are not codec issues and will not be helped by canon going to a newer processor.

The processor might help in making it possible in how the camera will deal with aliasing/moire. I don't know. I'm not an engineer. But the rumor is that DigicV will make it possible to greatly improve video.

Currently ASC Shane Hurlbut is scrubbing out aliasing using a new product from Cinnafilm, and he says they will be able to deal with moire as well in the near future. Personally, I don't like the idea of taking jacked up footage and then fixing it in post, but I guess the end result is the only thing that matters. I would rather start with pristine capture from the beginning, but oh well.

I'm not sure how the GH2 is getting reduced aliasing & moire, but it's encouraging these issues can be dealt with in a still camera that does video. I expect 5DIII to be better than the GH2. Maybe that's a misplaced expectation, but I think Canon will deal with it.
