Canon's 4K Cinema EOS Official Announcement & Latest Info-NAB 2012

Nice, but Nigel said he had to remove 1DC footage.
Yes, but a week later his 1st posting and a couple of hours later of Andrew's article succeeding dvxuser post the day before. Why? Isn't it strange? I sent him a message. Let's check his answer.

That eoshd.com article states 4:2:0, should be 4:2:2 in 4K mode.... If you are gonna blog, get the basics right.

Right Jay : ) Nigel was nice and answered, but didn't advance the reasons why the links were removed. So we'll probably never know what happened, just guess.

New link down once again... This is the 3rd (re-)post in just a few days. No action will stop the native file to be spread allover internet. Well, the owner of the copyright could do it, not a brand made with customers' money behind the request, being or not the case : )

Thanks for posting the new link Emanuel..

Very cool.... It's a beast of a camera when you think of the size and battery/storage options... Feel sorry for the focus puller.... F1.4 on APS-H, handheld!

UPDATED FRONT PAGE.

Makes me laugh every time:

Shane Hurlbut, ASC
"When you harness 4K into the small footprint of a 1D, give it the processing power to record to little CF cards with no external recording devices needed, then deliver an image that crushes the F65, Epic, Alexa in one fell swoop...."

It's a more advanced sensor with a lot of R&D money behind it and high bit-rate MJPEG looks almost lossless so if the processing has been done right why couldn't it crush more dated technology?

The word "crush" implies a huge improvement... Let's look at 3 of the most desired aspects of a sensor.

DR - All 3 are better than the 1DC
Resolution - Only the Alexa is lower than the 1DC
Sensitivity - All pretty amazing, 1DC might have the advantage here, tests will tell.

Of course, it is all subjective, he might actually think the image is better or perhaps he was actually meaning the APS-H "look" crushed the other cams.... But it still makes me laugh.
