Canon XHA1- HDcomponent capture

I have the canon Xh-A1 (Not G1) (While buying A1 - additional 3000 felt a lot more)
I intend to capture HDComponent live output from canon-XHA1. (I have personally seen the HDComponent footage captured have much better quality than HDV)
I know there are solutions like Wafian ($18,000.00) that can capture HDcomponent output to disk.
But looking at cheaper alternatives
The Component + Digital Audio to HDMI™ Adapter - (http://www.gefen.com/kvm/product.jsp?prod_id=4457) priced at $250.00 and using Black magic Intensity ($250.00)
DO you think this will work?
Need your valuable input

i would be interested in seeing this as well, but from what i've seen, component 4:2:2 and hdv are very similar in terms of what you see. Color grading is definitely facilitated, as well as green screen work.

That and a Blackmagic Intensity card ($249) *might* work.

Good find. Possible $500 solution...but the simple fact is that you'll still have to deal with being tethered.

HD component

HD component

it always come down to trust issue :) ....wondering if the HDcomponent output converted to HDMI signal will be 1080 4:2:2 signal ingested into the computer via Cineform Prospect.
I would like to hear possible drawback argument on this...
