Got my XH-A1S a couple days ago. Having some connectivity problems when trying to capture video. First off - because the manual is totally unclear - do you need to set your dial to "VCR" mode or to the obsure "external connection" mode at the end of the dial? I say obscure because this option and its function isn't listed in the instruction manual for the camera. Not sure if its for connection to the PC or connection to another external device/camera. When I try to connect the camera to the PC in VCR mode nothing happens. When I try to connect the camera in the "extrenal connection" mode, the device is intially detected, but it isn't fully recognized by my PC. I get a yellow whack in device manager indicating that it isn't fully recognized. HDVSplit seems to recognize the cam in this mode but I can't perform a capture. I'm using XP with SP3, 6 pin to 6 pin firewire cable. I also have premiere csw4 and it seems to be seeing the camera but it won't perform a capture, same as HDVsplit. The cam is set to output to HDV in the main menu. Anyone have any experience or recommendations?
