Canon Xh A1s: 1 Mic on 2 Channels?

hi all,

can i connect 1 mic and use it to record the audio on both the channels separately? i mean can i use 1 mic and have channel 1 and channel 2 record the audio at different levels?

Kindly do drop your answers. The Camera is Canon Xh A1S.

If it is possible, please tell me how.

no, they will mirror one another. You could use an exterior mic on one channel, then the onboard mic on another to get two different levels. Only xha1s, has better audio options than original xha1.

You might be able to use a separate mixer that has two-channel output, to send different levels to each of the input jacks.
