Canon XH-A1

Just read where there is a re-call by Canon on our cams. Seems the hand strap bracket can crack in time allowing the camera to go flying. Free fix and I think they send you a mailer sticker. Just didn't know if it was posted here or not. Some A-1s cameras are affected as well.

It's replaced by Canon for free? What about shipping to service center and return shipping costs?

"We have discovered that if certain XH G1/XH A1 and XH G1S/XH A1S professional camcorders are repeatedly held by the grip belt for long periods of time during shooting, there is a possibility that the grip belt cover that attaches the grip belt may crack.
Therefore, to allow our customers to continue using our products with greater assurance, we will replace the grip belt cover of affected products described below with one that has enhanced strength. This service is a preventative measure and will be performed free of charge upon request.
We would like to offer our sincere apologies to users who have been inconvenienced by this issue. Canon will continue to strive to provide our customers with high quality products that can be used with confidence. Thank you for your kind understanding.

They even asked me if I needed a box to return it....Even though I had the original, I said yes and they shipped me a brand new box....Only thing is that I am using both cameras in the next two weeks so I will have to wait till I slow up and will ship out one at a time so I won't be without a camera.

How do I find the "total hours" on the XH A1?

How do I find the "total hours" on the XH A1?

I'm looking to purchase a used XH A1 and I'd like to know
how to find the total hours it's been used.

Can anyone give me a quick walk-through of the menu?

Thanks.

Peter
