*** PRICE REDUCED FOR SALE: I am selling my Canon XH A1 only because I needed to get a camera with time/date output for legal video work.
The camera is in excellent condition, only used in the neighborhood of 150 hours. No problems ever, works perfectly.
Includes standard battery plus a 7.2 hour BP-970G, lens hood, lens cap, remote control, all cables, and manual, with original box.
$1500 plus shipping, from California.

If you are talking about the time/date stamp, it can be outputted to a DVD recorder, which I have done successfully, but it will not record to the tape. For legal video, you really need it to go to the original recording, in case the recorder malfunctions, which I have had happen. BTW, an earlier thread on here about legal video said it was not possible at all on the A1.

It's been a while since I have used mine, but did you try assigning #20 Character Rec to a custom function button, Page 89 in your manual?

Sorry, no, I won't sell the battery separately. My thought now is just to keep the camera, it is worth more to me than people are willing to pay for it. I imagine many on here who own xh-a1's think the same.
