Canon XF105 LTC input

Anyone have success with taking LTC TC from an external device and slaving to it? I believe the XF105 should behave like the 300 models but don't have experience with either. I have followed the directions, yet have no success. This might be going too deep, but the specs ask for a 18V p-p/10k input impedance. I don't know what source would output LTC at that voltage or impedance. I am trying to lock to the LTC from a Pro Tools sync I/O which is 1.5Vp-p/5k impedance. I have a hard time believing this is actually the issue. Trying to keep it simple. Any help appreciated!!
 
Just want to add that I tried to lock to TC out of a Sony EX3 to no avail. Checked all the settings were correct with Canon phone support too.
