For those of you who work with C300 footage, you were previously unable to download the XF Utility from Canon. It only came on the disc included in the box with the camera. Well, now it's on Canon's website.

It's a pretty nifty application, with LUT on/off, and every possible teeny tiny little piece of metadata that you could want. It's worth downloading just to verify ISO's! I'm tinkering the Canon's LUTs right now...

I didn´t figure out the LUT yet. Does it only apply a LUT to watch in the XF utility? Are there LUTs or Resolve around yet?

I'm using LUT Buddy - it's free. I actually haven't yet figured out how to get the XF Utility to see more LUTs than the default one - documentation really makes it sound like it's possible.

Hi Mike
i just bought the canon fx 300. I installed the xf utility. But when I try to look through the clips that I stored in a hard drive, I am not able to see them, just win I open them directly through the card reader, can you help me?
Thank you

Make sure you copy the whole card structure, then point XFutility at that directory.
The best practice is to open XF Utility while the card is in the card reader. Then it gets recognized and you can backup to hard drive.

In FCPX you just "import from camera" when the card is in the card reader.
