I own a Canon Vixia HF M40 and have been looking at external mics for it. Forgive me I still don't have all of the terminology down but it appears to have a basic mic jack similar to what you would plug headphones into not the three prong style of jack. I was wondering with this jack would I be able to use wireless lavalier mics or not and does anyone know of any other types of mics I can use with this camera? Then could you also help me out with explaining to me what the terminology is so I can describe to people exactly what it is I am looking for?
