Some shots in manhatten homes and condos. The most expensive one I've shot in was sold for 50 million in 2007. These were shot with canon the 17mm Tilt and Shift.

Engagement shoot the other day and wanted to share my favorite. I'm not usually a wide focal length guy when it comes to portraiture, however, I fell in love with this one. Sigma 35mm Art Lens, 5D II, Einstein strobe, Beauty Dish:
In case it's helpfull, in an ideal world I wouldn't have used a beauty dish for this shot. The shadows are bit too harsh since the placement of the beauty dish had to be a few feet away (22" beauty dishes are supposed to be used for headshots close up). A large umbrella or softbox would have been more appropriate I think.

had a bunch of different cameras and looking back through the years it's the Canon pics I'm most pleased with. Can't put my finger on it, just not as pleased with Nikon, Panasonic or Sony (even though they can be superior for video production; my best video material is shot with Panasonic).
My fav pics also tend to be shot with 5dmk2. And now I'm looking into getting a 5D classic, because portraits just look awesome with an FF sensor at 10mp. Can look through flickr pools of 5D classic all day.

egproductions- How are you lighting those interiors? Flash into the ceiling above and behind the camera? Flash or continuous source ( HMI )?
I am a video shooter and I am jealous of what you guys are able to do in regard to exposure. No offense meant, but is so much easier than lighting for video. Accomplishing that shot of the couple seated on the log using a continuous source would require a massively large light. Like an 18K if not two of them. Dealing with that light outside the windows of those interiors would also require a huge amount of light and / or having to meticulously and perfectly gel all those windows.
Do you guys use a handheld incidence meter / spot meter? If yes, do you meter in stops or in foot-candles? Or do you just use the camera as a light meter?

Typically I use Einstein E640 Strobes set to color consistent mode. Leverage window light and then fill with the strobe from the opposing side (occassionally I need 2 strobes depending on how much window light there is.) Then I set of 3 bracketed photos -2 stops in either direction while bringing the strobe power levels with it. In post I use camera raw to create an HDR and manually adjust/pain in anything that I want further crontol over.
