I like the poses and the color grading. I would say to be careful of some of the stray light on your subjects face. The first picture there is some spill on his right cheekbone and in general I would move the hairlight back a little for the second photo so there isn't spill onto his nose or eyebrows.
Yes, you're right. There were no light control. I tried to adjust it in post but made it worst so I left it as is.

came back from india few weeks ago, my girlfriend did some nice shots on 550d/t2i and mainly tamron 17-50, tokina 11-16, and old russian jupiter 11a.

You too. It's funny that in Israel on Purim, this kind of scene is more than commonplace but to many it seems so unusual. Next year I'd like to do some street shooting in Jerusalem on Shushan Purim.

5D2 w/ 50mm 1.4... using 600ex to trigger another 600ex in a softbox above and right, with a white reflector providing shadow fill and dress detail, just off frame on the bottom left. I also have a fresnel from high above to cut her off the duvetine background and put a shine in her hair.
She wanted "golden era hollywood"... I think we got it. I'm planning to make this shot into a vintage movie magazine cover... or an old cigarette ad.

Something I shot years ago but wasn't glad with the result.
But I kept it because I felt there was potential.
There is a shot very similar to this in the CBC documentary although the hat is different. This documentary is only available for a month or so I believe. Interesting.
