Wow, beautiful. The 10-22 is a god among lenses.
 
Anyone have any suggestions on what type of fisheye lens I should buy? And do more of you use Canon lenses or Nikon lenses with your XTs?
 
Tokina just released a new 10-?? fishey (FF). I have heard some great reviews on it. I have the tokina 12-24mm F4 and it is absolutly one of my all time favorite lenses. Tokina makes some really nice glass.

Ive gotten into photography now and ditched my DVX... um in the ditch.

But anyways, heres a small sample of what Ive done. The Portrait one, I know the background is not the cleanest... more just having fun.
The others were pics of my trip to Amsterdam. VERY Photogenic city.

for the most part i have learned it all about the glass, i reasearched before i purchaseed my d50 and i was pleasenlty surprised that the reviews were right, the d50 stock 18-55 lens is a bit sharper than the cannons equivalent. I saw ths real life comparisons, my buddy has a 30d and he has 8 mps vs my 6 mps and because my stock lens is better, my picstures are sharper, and he does agree. but yes ive learned that mps really dont matter for the most part, maybe a transistion from 4 to 8 or 6 to 10 but 6 to8 mps is really not worth the upgrade. get the cheaper cam and invest in the glass
 
DPreview always provides great coverage of cameras, but they lack on lens reviews.
I was introduced to SLRgear's lens reviews as a pretty good source.

I also think cameralabs is starting to do more on lenses, primarily on Canon, I think that's their favoritie.
If you google, just remember to stay away from Ken Rockwell's reviews.

Use their forum for specifics of lens reviews, opinions, and examples. dpreview is really comprehensive across the board. Otherwise, just go to a local camera shop with your body and card and shoot a bunch of tests. That's what I do
 
I'm hoping you guys can clear something up for me. I'm a bit of a novice when it come to the SLR side and I went into my local camera store yesterday to get a fisheye. This is where I get really confused with things. He told me I couldn't put a Nikon lens on a Canon XT. Which would be fine if Canon made a fisheye as wide as what I want. But they don't. And I thought for sure that some of you guys on this thread were using Nikon lenses. Can anyone clear this up for me?
 
There are good third-party wide-angle and fisheye lenses you can use on a Canon. Look into Tokina and Sigma.
If you absolutely must have a Nikon lens for a Canon, there are adaptors, but be aware they aren't made by either manufacturer, so approach with caution.
There are reported issues with them which might damage either or both the lens and body.
I'd do a lot of research on this before purchasing.
Lastly, when using any of these lenses on the Canon bodies, you lose auto focusing control, and metering will probably be thrown off.
IMO, it isn't really worth it.
I do use Nikon glass, but I use it on a Nikon body. Call me crazy.
