GH13 Canon Replica picture profile

I second the batch processing of RAWs. Once you have done it once, you should be able to set up a profile and auto apply anytime you like.

I just did an experiment today, there is no way I can get my GH2 photos to have the same default colour as my Canons in camera. The blues and yellows I can get pretty close, but reds and browns are completely different, it's like Canon has a huge warming filter over the whole picture, GH2 are actually more realistic IMO, Canons are more like memories.

I use aperture and don't know if there is a way to auto apply upon import, but I guess your seeing my dilemma on trying to match a canon color profile, I can get it to look close, but I'm wondering if there is some setting that can bring it closer. IMO I kinda like the canon memory look for just quick pics. After all pictures are captured memories. :)

You don't auto apply on import.

Import your RW2 Raw files.

For a given lighting situation, take a typical photo and colour correct it - get your "Canon colours" by eye. Lift the settings using the lift attribute button. Paste attributes to all of the other files from that lighting setup. You may find that it works accross all lighting setups if you get it right.

In camera jpegs I never bother with, so can't advise. Actually, I just generally advise against it, as it may scupper you on an amazing shot, which you'll be stuck with. RAW is damned powerful, and makes digital photography for me.

Yeah I paste adjustments that were lifted already. I shoot raw if I'm out trying to get a good shot or during a photoshoot, but for family picture like birthdays and such, I just shoot Jpeg Small size basic quality to save space on my HDD.

Actually I was wrong with my initial post, you can get close to the Canon look. Well at least in my interior test shots I can.

This is on a GH2 though, from what I understand the colours are different from a GH1 for a starter

Cinema film mode, contrast -2, sharpness -2, saturation -2. White balance +A 2, -M 5.
Nostalgia, contrast +1, -sharpness -2, saturation +1. White balance +A 2, -M 7.

Nostalgia seems to have the closer gamma curve, whereas Cinema I can achieve closer colours, at least so far
