Canon or Nikon 50mm 1.4?

I have $200 store credit at a local camera shop. They sell a canon 50mm 1.4 for around $400 there. Im trying to decide the best way to get my credit worth. Should I pay the extra $200 and get the canon 50 1.4 or buy a used Nikon 50 1.4 for $150 - $200 and then cash in the store credit on batteries, cards, and filters.

I already own the stock Canon 24-110mm 4.0 L lens, so I need something with low light, but will the Nikon 50mm and the canon 24-110mm not blend together well? Why is the Nikon so much cheaper than the canon?

Just need some advice please. They are just a small camera/photo shop so I can't get really any video accessories with my credit.

Thanks!

Depends first and foremost on what kind of work you do. However, I cannot recommend the Canon 50/1.4 wide open, it doesn't get sharp until around f2.5. There is a lot of other great glass out there in the 50mm range. I would do my homework first and then probably purchase used.
