C300: Canon Log LUTs out of SDI

Is there a way to apply a LUT going out on the HD-SDI image for viewing on the set monitor? I would shoot the Canon LOG gamma by default, but I want to instill confidence in the producers and director that they're getting the look they want as we're shooting scene by scene.

The Sony F3 with S-LOG update and the RED scarlet/epic can do this. Does the C300 have any feature like that?

Select the View Assist on. It will display in the LCD and other monitors an image which is close to a graded image. All the while the camera will be recording in Canon Log. So your director won't feel bad.

Sorry, this is not correct. "View Assist" only affects the on-board LCD display, not HD-SDI out or HDMI out. We use Flanders Scientific monitors which have C-Log and S-Log LUTs built-in for on-set monitoring of graded C-Log preview. Canon needs to make this an option via firmware.

Thanks for the info. The Flanders monitors sound sweet. And yes, Canon really should add a LUT option to their firmware.
