P Petrus Well-known member Jan 24, 2007 #3 I am afraid no. The lens speed at tele end drops somewhat, as a f1.6 tele would have to be over 2 times as big in diameter as the one Canon has. It would cost 5 times more and weigh a ton. Life (& optics and markets) has its limits.
