Hello

has anyone ever used a Canon L 28-300 3.5-5.6 IS lens with any of the c line cams?

what could u tell about it? how useful and or easy to use is it? and what are the problem using it for video i should keep in mind?

Regards

Size, weight and speed; it's big, heavy (about .4 lbs heavier than the 70-200) and slow.

Optically, I can't tell you how it performs...but it has a lot of good reviews (mostly from photographers).

Great range, but having a change in aperture while zooming is something to keep in mind (unless you're using at f/5.6+).

I've never shot video with it, but have used it for stills. What NorBro said, it is not a great video lens, variable aputure, long and heavy. Optically, all-in-ones usually have bad pincushioning on the wide end and are soft on the long end, they are the definition of "optical compromise" in service of convenience.

yes i kind of was going to use it as f/5.6... its not an issue...... hoping some one had an experience with it....

regards
