Canon HG20 Question

reposting in correct forum

Sorry but didn't see a canon forum for this camera so I just picked one.

This cam is onsale at costco.com for $599, that is my max budget amount so I think im gonna get it.

I have 1 question and would love some help.

I want to shoot some video, then import to a video editing program (prolly pinnacle) mix it with some pics and music then play it back in HD for family.

Question though instead of having to get a blu ray burner and a blu ray player can I just make my video and put it back on the camera then play it via component to an HD tv?

So I guess my question is if I mix the vid, can I export or render the vieo to a certain format that I can then dump it BACK on the camera to playback?

well sure for raw video i can just do that... but I wanted to edit the vid throw pics in there, music etc.... then play it back for family in HD.

If I can edit it then export the file to a compatible format then I can put the sdhc card back in the camera and play it it via HDMI or Component on an HDTV without having to burn to blu ray and have a blu ray player
 
as i understand it, you'll have to be able to re-create the same type of directory structure that the footage was shot with originally, when writing the edited stuff back to the camera card... but i think that it is possible... do your homework before buying, i'll pm you with a link or two to look at, i'm not sure that it's o.k. to post certain sites on this forum.

also, some hi-def tvs have sd card slots in the tv, but ymmv.
