Canon HG20 / PF24???

denzlite · Jul 31, 2009

Hello. Anyone editing footage shot with HG20? I shot some stuff with the PF24/CineMode/FXP -- thinking that would somehow give me 23.976 ... but looks like it's 1080 something at 29.97.

Anyone know what timeline I should use in Premiere for this? Is this technically 1080i??

Any help appreciated.

It is 2-3 pulldown.

It's 24p inserted in a 60i file format with extra images inserted to fill up the format container. Those extra images are pulldown and they must be removed for true 24p or 24f.

AE can do it, Cineform or other software. Or there are some freeware methods. Eugenia has a blog that tells you how.

You linked to the guy the wrong tutorial. The above link is for HDV cameras, he needs the tutorial for AVCHD ones. http://eugenia.gnomefiles.org/2008/01/04/canon-avchd-24p-pulldown-removal/
