Canon HF200 battery question

I just bought myself a Cannon HF200. It comes with one Intelligent Lithium-ion Battery and I would like to buy at least two of them and a charger. Should I stick to the Canon brand of battery or recharger or will any generic brand do?

Canon brand batteries will be very expensive. You can get generic batteries. However, Canon will detect if their own chip can be found in the battery. If not, it will not report the remaining battery level in the camera. Also, it won't charge that battery with the camera.

However, there're now BP-827 compatible batteries that has built-in LED indicator showing how much power is left. The battery can be charged with the third party charger, or with the AC adapter comes with your camera.

I have this --> http://lacolorshop.com/products/item.asp?id=bp827led

It is the highest capacity battery. With the external LED indicator, even the camera won't report remaining power level, you can check it on the battery itself.
