Canon Gl2 Problems

Im looking into buying a Canon Gl2, but the one I'm looking at buying has some problems...The owner says that "The playback feature turns on but not the camera feature. The firewire port is also not working." Would this be an expensive fix?

That basically means that the camera doesn't shoot footage and can't transfer footage. Probably be very expensive, if Canon still services the camera at all.

Do you know where I could get an estimate for a fix?

Canon has 2 authorized repair centers, one in Irvine, CA and the other in New Jersey. As far as I know those are the only places.

skip it. GL2's are really cheap. There's no reason to buy a broken one.

This. Also, why not buy an HV30? A used one on Ebay will run you roughly the same amount as a good condition GL2, and they're HD.
