C300: Canon Focus Guide, which lenses are supported?

Hi all,

does anybody know which lenses except Canon AF and CN-e support the focus guide feature in the C line?
What about non Canon Af lenses? And what about Zeiss Milvus or even the older Zeiss ZE (Classics as they are called by Zeiss today)? Maybe even Sigma Cine lenses in the EF mount version?

Thanks,
Martin

The lens needs to have some type of communication with the camera, so most of the 3rd party cinema lenses don't work. They don't have the electronic communications chip. If you don't see a communications chip on the back mount of the lens, then the focus DAPF will not work. Having said all of that, the Sigma Cine and Zeiss Milvus lenses do have the chip, though. I'm not sure about the Zeiss ZE.

I have been trying to find a dummy focus confirmation chip that will work with Canon Cinema cameras, but so far I haven't found one.

Yes, for sure the lens needs that chip. On a stills camera focus confirmation works with the Zeiss classics and I guess also with the Milvus, but can anyone confirm that focus guide on the C series works as well?
