"FD 85mm f/1.2 L ASPHERICAL"

Is there a FD 85mm f/1.2 L version that is spherical? ( that isn't "ASPHERICAL" )

At the prices of these "rare" gems, wouldn't you be better served by a set of Zeiss cinemod lenses? I originally started by trying to track down the f2 set with concave fronts and they are hard to find at anywhere near reasonable prices. And most are beat (which is why I gave up trying to get them).

Are you sure there is a 14mm f2..8? I have a nFD 15f2.8 which is pretty nice on a speed booster (GH2).

The Aspherics have less distortion and are therefore desirable (and expensive). FDtoEF.com has EF mounts for many of these, and I'm told Edmika is back in business for the other lenses like the SSC.

If you don't have them, you should add the 20-35 f3.5 and 35-105 f3.5 parfocal zooms to your list. Might as well have the full kit if you are going that far into this set.

Nah I don't think... When searching for such a specific set some things have gotten lost in translation. So it was really a mark for myself that I pasted. Better to have too much info though, eh?

With a massive generalization, it really comes down to a preference of these over any Zeiss I've seen. These are the only vintage lenses I've come across with the quality and character in close to the same price range.

I want to build the set over time but wanted to see what pops up on here. I've got priorities. I'll eventually have them rehoused but will do exactly as you mention and use the cinemods in the mean time.

There's for sure a 14mm 2.8L. I've seen that big beauty.
