I have to say that Sony has been killing it these last couple of years.

Ive been with Canon since the XL2 days and I just bought my first Sony camera. Metabones made this an easier choice, but I just don't understand what Canon is doing. It seems like Sony is coming out with a new camera every month and there are so many options to choose from.

It feels bad going to the dark side but it also feels good.

I've used mostly Panasonics the last 25 years but my corporate A and B camera are now Sony plus my still camera. So I've sort of switched as well. I expect many have lately. The a6300 will likely cause more

Loosely put - Canon and Nikon were allotted the "stills first" portion of the market while Sony and Panasonic took up the "video first" niche. The Canon stills shooters are still - pun intended - very loyal to the brand and its ecosystem. In terms of video, Sony and Panasonic have gained a lot of momentum but this doesn't mean Canon and Nikon can't catch up. The NAB is coming in a month and there are a lot of 5D MKIV (C/X, whatever) rumors. IMO, they have to deliver MKIV with specs substantially exceeding A7RII because Sony will obviously have another model or two down the road.
