Canon EOS Rebel T1i Action Trailer

Borrowed my friend's Canon EOS Rebel T1i just to see how could handle some action and overall shooting. Despite its overall lack of manual aperture, shutter and ISO, it still does the job nicely.

p.s. I shot dark to ensure that it would open the aperture to the fullest as opposed to that physical twist-lock trick, freaks me out to mess with the camera like that. If I were to use this camera, I would get manual lenses and an adapter.

Hell yeah dude that looks awesome!!!

I use the twist trick, not a big deal, it's only a couple of mm turned and lens is on there very secure. This way you can be wide open and throw more light at it and get the ISO down, this camera gets noisy fast after 200 ISO. You can always darken in post without taking a quality hit.

Anyway, very nicely done, can't wait to see more!
What lens were you using?

Hey Johnny,

Thanks man! It was actually your work with the music videos and a coincidental talk with my friend selling the T1i that motivated me to try shooting with it. You produced some awesome images with that camera so I knew the camera had alot of potential.

I did try the twist aperture trick, but I read that you had to press the DOF preview button and go into aperture priority mode, etc. it just seemed like a hassle, plus, I was straight up paranoid to add any unnecessary wear and tear on the lens mount. It worked out anyway since there wasn't much light and the camera was forced to open the aperture all the way.

Speaking of the lens, I just used the kit lens that my friend had on it (I believe it was EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 I). So, I wasn't able to get that full shallow DOF look with it. I figured, if I were to buy the camera, I would get an adapter and use my oldschool Minolta MD lenses on it.

Now I'm just debating whether or not to buy it off him and get a zoom H4N or just save up for GH-1 or Canon 7d. Of course, by the time I do that, who knows what they will have available?

Scarlett? Hahah.

Hey Nathyn! Are you on the SP boards, too? Yeah, that was me and Den from SP trying out the camera. Cool to see you on here!
