Canon Eos One 4K video camera - and Jackie Chan

Is anyone else bugged by the fact the lens it 8.9mm - 89mm, but "24mm - 240mm" is painted on the lens with a faded "35mm equivalent" next to the markings?

I understand the whole 35mm equivalent thing, but I think it really needs to stop. We have too many sensor sizes out on the market today to be using a flawed old fashioned way of thinking about FOV.

I didn't look at it, but based on your post I'd have to wonder if they mean 35mm full frame or 35mm film (s35)? I agree it's confusing. Maybe they anticipate this being used along side s35 cinema cameras in a drone or gimbal?

not confusing at all. Equivalent markings are always in Full Frame. 1" type is 2.7 crop. 8.9x7=24

If the manufactures want to remove all possible confusion, they will switch to marking with FOV degrees instead of focal lengths/equivalants

Canon always seems to come out with something that could be amazing but manage to completely gimp it.
Please, you can say that soo much better.......they didn't gimp anything, the C series cameras have been a major success....period
