Im currently trying to get some information from Canon, of which I will update here for you Aussies out there. Pretty quiet our end at the moment.

Whilst I wait for Canon, I do have these small things to offer.

Presently the only place I can find that will accept pre orders is Michaels camera - read notoriously over priced in my experience.

UPDATE: 25/01/2012

Before I post this some disclosure - I have no association with Lemac Australia. Quite simply they are the only company giving me solid information.

Lemac Melbourne / Sydney / Brisbane are now accepting pre orders for the Canon EOS C300

Lemac require a 20% deposit for pre order.

Lemac are listing the C300 @ $17598:90.

Pre orders (depending on number of cameras shipped and when you place your preorder) have an expected delivery around the end of February.
 
Some not so happy news.

Canon Australia has not yet confirmed who the dealers will be.

Videoguys.com.au for example, a reputable dealer in Melbourne will not be carrying them due to some bizarre restrictions. These guys sell every other Canon camera from DSLRs right through to the XF305.

John Barry / the home of Panavision Australia have no idea at this stage when they'll be able to even do pre orders - they have a complete lack of information.

Dealer appointment marks the start of Cinema EOS System sales,

SYDNEY, 31 January, 2012: Canon Australia is proud to announce the appointment of Lemac and Videocraft as dealers in the Australian market for the recently announced EOS C300/C300 PL Digital Video Camcorder, for high-resolution motion picture production. From today, Lemac and Videocraft will handle the sales, rental, service support and integration for the EOS C300/C300 PL and related lenses.

Launched in November 2011, the EOS C300/C300 PL Interchangeable-Lens Digital Video Camcorder and 4K Cinema Lenses form part of the new Cinema EOS System – a professional digital cinematography system that spans the lens, digital video camcorder and digital SLR camera product categories.
