Anyone have experience shooting with the Canon EF-M 22mm F2 pancake lens on the C200? Potentially seems like a good match for stripping the C200 down and shooting light.
Unfortunately it’s not compatible. EF-M lenses only work on Canon’s mirrorless stills cameras. The 24mm 2.8 STM pancake may be the closest equivalent in terms of speed, focal length, and physical size
I've been shooting with the 24mm 2.8 STM lens on the my 80D and the C200. Unfortunately, it's not a very sharp lens. I wish it was, love the size but it's just not up to the standards of the cameras.
Would have to agree with Pure Drifting here. I currently own the 24mm STM and used to own the 22mm EF-M and you won’t get as sharp of an image. Closeups on the 24mm can look pretty cool but any subject more than 15ft away, especially when wide open, will look soft.
I own the 24mm STM, and I can mostly agree with everyone above... However at ~$100 used, it's definitely worth adding to your kit. It is a fantastic lightweight option, works well with DPAF, and doesn't take up any real space in your bag. I also have the 40mm STM which is a little slower to focus but is also light and easy to bring along if needed.
