Canon EF 28-135mm lens IS question...

When you guys switch the IS button to on... Does anyone notice a subtle mechanical noise going on within the camera?? I notice it when I switch the button to on and want to know if it's normal... Thanks!

Yep. No issues, that's just how it is.

I just bought the 7D and the 17 - 55mm Canon IS lens and had the same issue...I thought maybe it was bad lens or bad camera. Is that the story with all IS lenses (Canon and Non-Canon)? Does anyone have experience with whether that hum registers on the audio recording? Also-- does this mean that when shooting video and sound is important everyone is turning off their IS on the lens?
