C300: Canon Cinema Primes ?

Hello

i d like to ask a few questions if possible:
1. these Canon Cinema Primes are they just rehoused EF photo lenses , just like Zeiss CP primes? or the glass is build/designed from the ground up, as a true cine lens?
2. seems like they are just EF mount, i wonder if canon announced anything about creating an optional pl mount for them in feature? would be great to be able to swap between the two mounts...

price seems like lower then other cine lenses, but are they really great compared to true cine lenses?

Regards

The CN-E primes are not rehoused still glass. Their design is likely based in the L-series primes, but the CN-e's have more elements, rounded 11 blade irises (vs 8 straight blades), higher quality glass, and redesigned mechanics. CN-E primes maintain better sharpness at wide apertures, have improved micro-contrast, and smoother bokeh over their L series counterparts. The ASC made a nice video where they compare the CN-E's to Zeiss Compact & Ultra primes where they hold their own quite well.

Forgot to add: they are not currently available in PL mount, and there is no word when/if they will be.

Jonathan Yi, has a good sense of humor. His and Mac's video reviews are the funnest.
