Terry, do you know what's going on with the 25p firmware for 1D C? when is it gonna be released? A friend of mine is travelling in the US and might buy a 1D C from you, however she's a bit unsure as she's PAL.

Terry,
Is there any info available on the terms of the C100 financing? I haven't seen anything detailing it other than the application.

Canon's last presser about the 25p firmware update said an announcement was due in April.

I'm checking with Canon to see if it there is anything forthcoming next week.

I can email you a sample copy of the 1 page Canon lease agreement if you send me an email.

The 0% lease is for 24 months with a final payment of $1.
(divide purchase price by 24 for payments)

Canon requires a completed sales tax exemption or they add sales tax. Texas and a few other states offer Film & TV sales tax incentives.

On 0% Canon leases, you can pay off the lease early at any time with out a penalty.

There is a $65 document fee charged by Canon.

Canon requires insurance. Canon can purchase insurance for you if you don't want to deal with it.

Here's the only public link that I've seen:

This is exactly the info I was looking for. The good thing is that you already have a sales tax exemption form on file for us. When it comes to the insurance, how do that want that listed? Does Canon was to be listed as additionally insured, loss payee, or can this just fall under our existing equipment policy?

The deal is just so nice I want to make sure there aren't any gotchas that I need to look out for.

On sales tax exempt leases, Canon Financial Services, must be listed as the seller on the sales tax exemption form:
Canon Financial Services, Inc.
158 Gaither Dr, Mt.Laurel, NJ 08054

Canon Financial Services requires that you have insurance listing CFS as a loss payee.

Below are two examples of cost of insurance for the C100 & C300 that can be added onto the lease bill. I have no idea if this is a good value.

Canon USA has again delayed the 1D C 25p firmware to end-of-May 2013, have you contacted Canon about what's going on?

Hi Terry,

I noticed that the $1000 rebate for the C100 is good until May 31st, 2013. Does that mean on June 1st the camera is going back up to $6499 for the body?

I live in the US. Is the c100 universal or is there any repercussions to buying it "grey market?"

And are the firmware updates just something you download and install or do you have to send it into canon? Thanx much for any help.

imported or grey market cameras will not have a Canon USA warranty.

most Canon firmware updates can be installed by the camera owner.

There are exceptions like the upcoming 1DC "service upgrade" that requires that the 1DC be sent back to a Canon Cinema EOS service center to enable 25p.

Here's a list of authorized Canon Cinema EOS full line dealers. This list doesn't include a couple of the newly added dealers that are only authorized to sell just the C100.
