C100 MK II with Ninja 2 for 5800$ is great!

C100 OG reaching price of the mk III. That's quite tempting! Also will mean used prices will be in the 2K consumer market range... Canon always delivers such great prices with cameras and especially lenses.

The C500 dropping that much begs the question of why buying the C300 with so little difference, especially at that price range. C500 is future proof.

Think we'll have to wait until NAB for the C300 Mk2 announcement or will it come sooner? I know many people waiting to pull the trigger on either the FS7 or the C300 Mk2 depending on the announcement.

That's a good price on the C100. That brings it to about the price the Canon XL1 was 12 years ago. Granted it doesn't come with a lens like the XL1 did, but you have to take into account inflation as well. The XL1 was definitely a camera a lot of shoestring budget filmmakers embraced at the time. I shot my first feature on one in 2003.

At my local store in Montreal the C500 has dropped from $22k (Canadian) to $16k.

The new C300 prices are tempting, but I'm still leaning toward the C100mkii instead. It's smaller and lighter than the C300 and has some very useful new functions. The only advantages I see to the C300 are the codec and perhaps the removable monitor.

The Canon C500 camera was previously running at $19,999. This is a fantastic price and as shown in the C500 Convergent Odyssey 7Q package deal above appears to even be better at $17,999.

I believe the only Atomos product that can pair with it 100% is the new Shogun. It's the only product that does HFR HD.

C100 Mark II body availability was supposed to increase before the end of the month. It's still really tight for the time being.

C100 Mark II kits did have an eta of middle of February.

We will learn more this week.
