Hello

i just saw the C300 II tutorial and noticed one interesting that, that is very important to me, could u plz confirm if i understand it right:

1. there is an option to record 10 bit 4:2:2 1920x1080 with bit rate 160 Mbps Intra and/or 50 Mbps Long Gop???
Is it really true? i can record 10bit with just 50Mb/s ? with the kind of production i do it is very important to keep the small file size , thats why i am asking....

2. is the a support for that codec in Adobe CS6? or is there some kind of plug in for it?

this is the Tutorial that i watched: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yrO_snI2WHc

Regards

I don't think any of the C300 Mark II files work natively in CS6, and obviously don't expect Adobe to update CS6. They all work fine in Creative Cloud. My C300 Mark II came with a free year of Creative Cloud; not sure if that offer is still around.

Yeah, you can do 10 bit 4:2:2 at 50 mbps. You're compressing more information (10 bit vs 8 bit) into the same size file as the C300 Mark I's 8 bit 50 mbps, so in theory your data may be getting thinly distributed resulting in possible artifacting, etc. Or maybe it's awesome. I haven't done any tests between 50 mbps and 160 mbps.

Here's a 10 bit 4:2:2 at 50 mbps frame grab shot in Canon Log 1 (ungraded) with the Sigma 18-35.

If you're shooting any fast motion or a scene with lots of detail I would stay away from it. The image can get really murky and blocky quick
