Trying to connect C100ii via hdmi to a 2015 MacBookPro to use as a field monitor.
Any workarounds or suggestions? I am not using Adobe P as a NLE.

Thanks in advance!

Also a silly question, why record on a relatively unstable and unreliable recorder (a laptop) tethered to AC power when the simplicity, reliability, portability and much more accurate screens of the Atomos and Convergent Design recorders are available? Unless you need to live stream to YouTube or Google Hangouts, laptops are terrible as video recorders or monitors.

The HDMI port is in HDMI output. It sends a video signal from the laptop to a monitor. The C100 has an HDMI output, meaning you need to input that signal into your laptop. You need an HDMI input. I don't believe any HDMI jacks are both inputs and outputs. Can anyone here confirm that?

Not using the laptop to record. Just need it as a reference monitor for clients (and myself) occasionally. Having it on shoots anywyas to do simple keys for approvals and such also. It's there, so trying to find a monitor soultion for it seems reasonable. Trying to utilize the gear I have as best as possible.

The Scope Box app looks very interesting as well/

If you use this on combination with a device such as the Blackmagic Intensity extreme and scope box, which I have. then it works. Only problem is that I have only used in with a macbook air and after a while the fans kick in which are quite noisy. However if you use another app such as Blackmagic Media Express then the fans don't kick in... I guess Scopebox is using a lot of grunt in showing wave forms etc. Media express does not give you a full screen image and scopes... not ideal. At some point I will test with a macbook pro to see if it has the fan issues as well. Basically I need a bigger monitor for focussing and the idea of having a 13 inch monitor that can be also used as a laptop is appealing. But then again the 15 inch Osee LCM156e is on my radar as well.
