PortaBrace has always been the standard. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produ...race_rs_c100_custom_fit_rain_slicker_for.html The C100 has a weird shape too, I think this is the best you will probably do unless there is some new company out that makes one that none of us have heard of. Kata was bought out by Manfrotto and I can't find anything on the Manfrotto bags website that is specifically made for the C100.
Petrol makes one. I have it, but I've never actually used it. It's quite a bit different than the portabrace kit as it is almost completely clear and covers the top handle as well. It attaches to the cold shoe on the top handle and then basically zips around the camera.
I've used trash bags in a pinch and they work okay but if it gets windy, the trash bags are noisy if you are shooting dialogue and you pretty much have to keep replacing and taping them up. I had a PortaBrace rain jacket for my old TRV900 DV camera and my Betacam, they are pretty good stuff. Heavy duty and also good for shooting in high wind where debris is being whipped around a lot, keeps the dust and sand off a bit. I will have to hunt down that Petrol bag to have a look, I forgot about Petrol, they make good stuff too.
Does TMS carry those high-speed trash bags? Might have to pick me up a few of those.
I saw the Portabrace cover on B&H, but when I had last checked it had no reviews/feedback. Before I invest a bill and a half on a rain cover I'd like to know if it is going to cover my needs as the end user/consumer.
I like the 10c bag option ... but would also be happy to buy something made to fit, if in fact it fit well, covered the handle, allowed me to see the lcd (I have a C100), use the controls, didn't mist up, etc.
Is there such a cover? The portabrace doesn't look like it's it ...
