Hey,

I am shooting cinema mode, with the following settings 24Mbps LPCM 50i 25fps (europe)
Are these the best settings for getting the most out of my c100? I am a bit afraid of the 50i? I thought interlaced was a thing from the past? However when I change 50i to PF25, it seems to loose Dynamic Range??

Thanks!

I'm avoiding all the interlaced modes:

Most of the time, I'm using the 50p modes (avchd: 28mbit / mp4: 35 Mbit).

With this, it is possible to edit to 25p, 50i and even getting a Little bit (50%) Slow-Motion in post.

Of course, you also can use the PF25 mode, you only have to "tell" your NLE, that the material isn't interlaced, canons PF-Format is a little bit odd...

With all the progressive formats you aren't loosing any dynamic range at all.

Ah, sorry...

Well, I have both, C100 Mk I for three years now, have always filmed in PF25, never 50i. Was always fine. Never had any problems with reduced dynamic range.

Just make sure that your NLE recognises the Files as progressive, not interlaced. The files are progressive in an interlaced container.
