C100: Canon C100 and Atomos Ninja 1

Hi all. Just got my C100 last week after months of weighing up all the competing cameras. Very happy with my choice, easy to use and stunning images right out of the camera.

My question relates to the Ninja 1. In the UK these are nearly $500 cheaper than the Ninja 2 at the moment. I know they have a older chipset, worse monitor, and don't feature record control with C100 - but otherwise are they fully functional with the C100?

I can live without record control and a better monitor if it still gives me 422 Pro Res for a much cheaper price.

Has anyone used one with or without this camera?

Thanks in advance...

The only drawback I can see is if shooting 24P the original Ninja will not remove the pulldown so you end up with a 60i file with 24 embedded into it. This would need to be removed to restore the true progressive quality of the footage. However, since you are in 25P and 50i part of the world, I am not 100% sure if this will affect you at all. Even if your 25P is wrapped in a 50i container, I believe you can just process as progressive and be ok.
