C100: Canon C100 $1000 Instant Rebates & 0% Lease Promos at Texas Media Systems

lol I didnt make a grand back from Dec to Apr. F me !

at least I know for the future year, this discount is gonna be permanent, and maybe next christmas C100 is gonna have 2 grand discount.

think about C300 owners, 3 grand is more painful than us lol

BTW - if any UK C100 owners are feeling a little hard done by, $5,499 works out to about £3,600 - within a whisker of the current non-VAT price. Looks like we've already had it. Great deal on the 24-105 lens, though.

@EIREHotspur - sorry, dear chap; it's my mere conjecture and nothing more. Our existing prices seem to be within £50-£80 of the new discounted US price.

Probably to do with the normalisation of exchange rates and all that.

Yes, we have to add 20% to that for VAT, but that's not Canon's fault (and if you're shooting corporates for money, you should register for VAT refund). IIRC, shipping one over may also add 15% import duty too.

I'd like to see if the European Canon folks will do a similar deal on the 24-105. Too late for me, but it would be great for C100 neophytes to get them a good start.

EDIT - just heard of a price drop in UK. Okay, so it maybe hearsay, but a drop to £3.2k plus VAT. That could be spurious, or some other screwy deal, but it's out there.

Its 2K and I think most of us C300 owners have made our money back enough times by now to care very little plus tax write offs. On the upside for me, no rebate in Aus. so local prices still good.

How long is this promotion running? For the body only?

I am on a job and do not have time in the next few days to make this purchase right now.

It looks like the "body only" promotion runs through June 30th. The "Body and 24-105mm Lens" deal also runs through June 30th.

Have noticed it's happening already, within the last hour or so a couple shops have dropped by almost £400
