C200: Canon Burbank

I was in the neighborhood earlier today, so I though I'd drop in.

What a snarky place.
Yelp: They never answer the phone. I called 5 times. No answer.
At the front lobby.
Me: Do you have a 18-80 lens?
Front desk: We only have what we have on display.
Customer service yells: We have one on the C200 at the end.
Me: That's a 70-200, not an 18-80.
Then silence.
Then the person at the front desk says to a customer picking up a set of cine primes. You didn't give me the right information (in a very snarky tone) which is why I couldn't find your order.

It's too bad Costa Mesa is a photo and not a cine center. The last time I was there they finally had a C200 on display but no 18-80.

I've never, ever, seen this kind of response from any of the Canon people there. I've been to Costa Mesa many times and the crew there is very professional and engaging.

Sorry you had a "not great" experience there.....I've been many times and its always been great, whether dropping off stuff or going to seminars.

Also, Give Michael Bravin a call there. He is the Manager of the facility and would be very interested in hearing about your experience and what he can do to resolve it for you. BTW, on the 18-80mm, I have it on display with the C200, all going to a 65" monitor here at CinemaWorks, on the 4th floor, Samy's on Fairfax.

Our purpose for operating this facility is to have a place where image creators whether still or motion, can stop in and see our equipment, speak with an expert and enjoy the well appointed facility. Along with a walk up service counter for repairs, we have equipment training, lecture, screening and technical workflow areas, all for the use of our clients and members of the creative community. And our showroom where you can touch and try most if not all of our gear. We also have a regular program of training and career enhancement events throughout the month, throughout the year.

For whatever reason, we fell short when you visited this morning. No excuse, and I'd like to offer a heartfelt apology and invite you to come back and visit, Ill show you around personally with a tour and most importantly get your hands on the 18-80 that was most interesting to you today. drop me an email - mbravin at cusa.canon.com and we can set something up!

Again my apologies for a less than stellar first impression.
