C200: Canon BPA Battery Knockoffs with P-Taps

Does anyone have any experience with one of the Canon BPA knockoff batteries that have the P-Tap? There's the Core SWX C98wh and the SWIT 73Wh . Newshooter did a review about 4 months ago on the Core-SWX Nano-C98. They used it on a C200 and stated that the one downside was that the camera would shut off at the 13 minute mark, which is something I wouldn't want to deal with. But that could have just been a prerelease version they were reviewing because I don't see that complaint in any of the reviews on B&H. You'd think someone would have mentioned that on there.

Has anyone used one of those batteries recently and if so, do quirks like that still exist with them?

I have sold out of our Canon versions...all taken by new C500 MK II owners.....so I'd say there is no problem, otherwise those would have bee returned....we have more on order....

I bought the Core version a couple of weeks ago from B&H. I sent it back. My copy would not charge on my Canon charger so I didn't want to deal with it. The Core battery is so much cheaper, though.

The SWIT ones are super janky. They have no contacts on the body mount side, you have to plug a d-tap cable into the power input on the camera. I'd avoid those.

There was some old stock that had this problem. Apparently Core has fixed it. THough I'm not sure how long it will take for the new stock to come in and whether retailers will return old stock.

So in the last year or so, how have the Core batteries been holding up for people? I'm especially interested the 98Wh BPA model for Canon:

That's the one discussed above, but I just want to be sure everyone's on the same page. It's also the battery Eric reviewed in Nov 2019:
https://www.newsshooter.com/2019/11...no-c98-battery-for-canon-c200-c300-c500-mkii/

So for those of you using this Core battery (and also those using other Core batteries), how are they holding up? Any issues with the P-Tap and USB ports? Still working as well/long as expected? If you didn't need (or aren't using) the p-tap and USB ports, would you still buy the Core battery over the Canon (or perhaps SWIT) equivalent?

Thanks!

I have 4 Core98 on the C300iii from the start in June 20 and I probably haven't used the Canon battery that came with the camera once. The Core charge with the original Canon charger, with a cheapo slow dual charger and with the Swit PC-U130B2 charger via d-tap. I wouldn't have wasted a thought if you hadn't asked.
