That's right you heard me. I speculated on this before. And today went out and got a 2gb SD memory card.

Im in a rush right now and doing more testing so just throwing crap together. You can only do this in bursts. Im doing more testing now to determine the actual frame rates achieved.

Heres a small (badly output clip - rushing and aspect ratio is out, sorry). The lowest frame rate is achieved by setting the shutter speed to 1/4 and you can increase that right up to 1/500. I cant even remember what I shot this clip on. The image below however was taken from a very shaky series of shots (too much motion blur to be a good example - im heading out with tripod), but you can clearly see the spark trail.

Anyway click here for clip

and heres the fire image

More to come on this today.

Will post more tomorrow when I get some time, but the reality is you end up with about 12fps which gives you a little more motion blur, works well on high speed objects and your car lights etc will blur more than shooting 24f at lowest shutter, but you only get a limited amount and its a little painful to go through the process when the difference isnt greatly enhanced over normal shooting at lowest shutter. Think Ill just stick to the HVX for variable frame rates for the once in six months that I actually need it.

Set your A1 to camera mode. Set it slowest shooting rate using 1/4 shutter speed and hold the photo button down and it will continually shoot stills. But read my second post, had to try it.
